Have you ever heard of the dance genre Brazilian Zouk?

Now You have!

Brazilian Zouk is a social Latin dance that originated in Brazil in the early 1990s. It evolved from the Lambada, a Brazilian dance influenced

by other Brazilian dances. Brazilian Zouk is a fun, dynamic and modern partner dance.

One fun fact regarding the Brazilian Zouk is it can be danced to a variety of musical genres including classical, pop, dubstep, hip hop, R&B

and lyrical. In one word, once you master Brazilian Zouk, you will always be the shinning star on the dancing floor, regardless the music

genre of the house.

Brazilian Zouk is relatively a new dance genre to people in Beijing. Bringing new and fun things to do to Beijingers is always the most

important responsibility to Beijing Foodies. And we are delighted to have Ashish for the party as dancing instructor who happens to be the

person who introduced Zouk to Beijing! Come have fun with us next Friday night at St Domingo for the hottest Zouk dancing party in Beijing! You will be surrounded by Beijing Foodie members, a group of international young professionals, who happen to be the most fun and cute

group of people in Beijing! So come for the Brazilian Zouk, for new friends, for the booze, and for the endless fun!

Zouk Instructors

Ashish started his dancing career by accidently entering a Tango Party in 2012. Since then he has taken it as not only his passion but also as a profession. He has learnt Tango for first 2 years before moving to various styles of Latin dances like Bachata, Kizomba and finally to Zouk. Since 2016, he has taught Zouk at several international events and festivals. He's also regarded for being one of China's top Latin DJs, and he's performed at international events as a DJ. He's also a producer of Zouk music.

Amy is a rising star in Beijing's social Latin Dance scene. Since 2018, Amy has been studying Zouk and other Latin dances. She is a quick learner and a fantastic social dancer, allowing her to begin teaching Zouk in 2019. She also participated in the various International Zouk Dance Competition and has been a finalist. Before this Amy began to learn jazz dance in 2008 and once worked as a dancer in Guangzhou Satellite TV's "Lego Beat" program.
